Label Selection Suggestions

LOTZ Industrial Laser Label Printers are designed to adapt to a wide range of label sizes and types from plain paper to multi-layer, self-adhesive. Selecting the labels and label vendor should be given special attention to ensure printer compatibility. We would be pleased to recommend a supplier for your application. The following parameters are suggested for optimum printer performance:

Total Weight* (Bond), Caliper, Felt-Side (Sheffield), Wire-Side (Sheffield), Toner Anchorage, Ink Compatibility, Tip-On Label Compatibility, Grain, Packaging, etc. Labels outside our specifications and/or certification may not receive standard performance warranty, nor be qualified for the lowest support contract rate.

*Total weight includes all adhesives or liners which are included in all dimensions of the label. Some printers specify a bond maximum of 24 lbs., while others 28 lbs. Label delivery performance, however, may not be adversely affected by greater weights if sufficient attention is given to Sheffield, depending upon the printer model.

Please note also that preprinted label forms must use ink which is able to withstand temperatures of the printer's fusing process. Smooth or coated surfaces must be used only on the wire (top) side and may be polyester or similar material, but caution that the material be able to withstand the printer's fusing roller temperature.

Since the labels are generally manufactured without concern for the feed characteristics of the laser printers, an important consideration must be taken when selecting "Dry-Gum" and "Tip-On" labels. A LOTZ pre-test of all customer labels is required to verify performance with the industrial laser label printer model which has been ordered.
